Post-doc position in auditory-visual neurophysiology at UCL Ear Institute

Dear Colleagues, please forward the following advertisement to anyone who might be interested.

Best wishes,

UCL Ear Institute

Research Associate Position

This project aims to understand when visual information can enhance listening, and how integration of visual information into auditory cortex underpins this process. Experimental work will include training animals in listening tasks and using state-of-the-art recording techniques to measure the activity of single neurons and populations of neurons in the auditory cortex of freely moving animals, whilst they discriminate auditory-visual stimuli.

The successful applicant will have a PhD in auditory or multisensory neuroscience, or a related discipline.  Experience in one or more of the following areas is essential; electrophysiological recordings, animal or human psychophysics, digital signal processing, computational techniques and/or MATLAB programming.

The post is funded by a Wellcome Trust / Royal Society Fellowship award to Dr Jennifer Bizley and is available for 3 years in the first instance.

Informal enquiries about the project and position are welcome; please contact Dr Jennifer Bizley (j.bizley@xxxxxxxxx). Applications should be made through UCL’s on-line application process (http://www.ucl.ac.uk/hr/jobs/) searching under reference 1311893.

The closing date for applications is April 1st 2013.
