More details for the 3rd Workshop on Intelligent Music Production (WIMP2017) are now available. This year, the workshop will be held on Friday the 15th of September at Media City, Manchester, UK. The event brings together researchers from a range of backgrounds including music tech, signal processing, machine learning, musicology and audio engineering to discuss developments in the field of Intelligent Music Production. Keynotes will be delivered by Alexandros Tsilfidis of Accusonus and Andy Elmsley of Melodrive.
Late Breaking Demos
We have decided to add a Late Breaking Demos session to our program. This is an opportunity to present work that is currently under development, which would be of interest to the community. In this session, participants can present a demo of a system they are working on, or a poster. If you are interested in submitting something, please send a short abstract (ideally no longer than 100 words) to intelligentmusicproduction@xxxxxxxxx.
The panel session, entitled “Are Sound Engineering Jobs at Risk?”, will address the growing popularity of AI and intelligent systems in sound engineering. Experts from academia and industry will discuss recent developments, along with the implications that they have for jobs in the field. Confirmed panel members are: Alessandro Palladini (Music Group), Enrique Perez-Gonzalez (Solid State Logic), Hyunkook Lee (University of Huddersfield) and Steinunn Arnardottir (Native Instruments).
Demo Session - Behringer Deep Mind
Behringer will be presenting an interactive demo of their Augmented Reality - Deep Mind Synthesiser. The synth allows users to control parameters in free space using a HoloLense device.
Registration for the event is £20, including lunch, coffee and a wine reception on the 14th at the University of Salford.
